
And here's my best tip for saving money - stay at one of the hotels which gives complimentary entrance passes. The servings were generous so we shared meals which made it more affordable.

(But, the massage - 50 minute hot stone back of body - was fabulous!) It's true that the cafeteria is pricey, but we all enjoyed our lunches. The check in process was not very efficient (one of the few negatives), and it took so long that I ended up being late for my massage. Tips: Schedule any treatment for at least an hour after you plan to arrive. If I lived nearby, I would get an annual membership and go several times a week just to relax and enjoy the ambience. The mud bath was fun (there is a room you can sit in to dry the mud when the weather is damp), and the grotto was a kick.

We all got massages and some of us had facials and everyone enjoyed their treatments. We arrived at 9:00 and stayed until they closed, and the entire day was wonderful. The bad weather kept the crowds away and we felt that we almost had the place to ourselves. And there were plenty of towels available to dry off in between.

The weather when we went was cold and rainy, and I worried that this would spoil our fun, but I was wrong! If we got chilled walking from one steaming pool to another, all we had to was jump in the water to warm up. Beautifully landscaped with tropical plants, winding pathways that lead to crystal clear pools, waterfalls and other lovely touches everywhere you turn. My mental image of the perfect spa exactly matched what we found at Glen Ivy.
